SWD District Convention

  My fellow Kiwanians,

Joanne and I want thank each of you who joined us in
Tempe,  Arizona, August 5 - 8, 2010, as we celebrated yet
another year of service for the youth in our communities.  We had one
awesome convention with a few twists and turns.  Convention Chair
Bobbi Caley, with support from her home club of Tempe Nuevo, made this
a rich, rewarding and memorable experience.  Education Chair Herb
Hayde arranged an excellent venue of classes, complete with a course description, to expand your
  Kiwanis education.

The fun started Thursday evening at the Special Kiwanis evening at the Arizona Diamondback
Baseball Game.  About 60 guests attended the game and enjoyed the All You Can Eat Section!
Friday morning the first LSSP (Large Scale Service Project) was held at Tempe Boys and Girls
Club where breakfast was provided and games, including a clown making balloon toys for the
kids were enjoyed by all.    Our New District Governor and Governor-Elect for the coming Kiwanis
year was elected.  Governor Smith closed the evening thanking all of you for what you do to serve
the children of your community, our District, and the world.

The Saturday evening closed with a musical event with a little country, a little pop, and a little
mo-town.  You should have seen the people out there with their dancing shoes.

  Yours in Service,

  Ron and Joanne
