Southwest - Kiwanis International

The Southwest District of Kiwanis International serves children and families in Arizona, New Mexico, and the El Paso area in Texas. We have a proud history of helping youth and their families, with a presence in many communities through our youth and adult programs:

K-Kids Clubs: Elementary schools
Builders Clubs: Middle schools
Key Clubs: High schools
Circle K Clubs: College campuses
Aktion Clubs: Adults with limited skills that otherwise would go untapped
Kiwanis Clubs

We provide the stepping stones to help youth learn community service and leadership skills.

The District will be celebrating our 100^th year anniversary in El Paso August 3-5, 2018. It will be a grand event with special entertainment and an outstanding keynote speaker. We will be releasing a History of the District publication that illustrates substantial contributions to youth.

If you have thought about becoming involved in community service, Kiwanis offers multiple opportunities. Our clubs decide on their service projects. Their endeavors vary from huge regional athletic events to simple recognition of students who have turned their grades around in difficult circumstances. Message from the District Governor

Fellow Southwest Kiwanians,
During my years of experience with governmental, private sector, and non-
profit groups, it was apparent that you work better with common
goals. The simple way to identify common goals is to ask members
“What needs to be done?” We did so this last year through a membership
survey. Our members told us we need to focus on growth and service
as our highest priorities, with our outreach and fundraising efforts
supporting these areas. We also learned there is a desire for change,
so we will:

• Hold our Mid-Year conferences closer to home,
• Provide on-site growth assistance to our clubs,
• Offer educational classes that address desired topics, and
• Ensure more recognition for our volunteers.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you this year as we move forward by working on these objectives. Together we can, together we will!
